Abstract submission guidelines

Title: The title should be concise and indicative of the content of the abstract.

  • Please ensure that your title is inputted in title case. For e.g., ‘Population Health Management in Primary Health Care’ and not ‘Population health management in primary health care’. Do not enter the title in all capital or all lowercase letters.
  • Do not use abbreviations in the title.
  • Do not end the title with a period.

Word Limit: 250 words (does not include title and authors).

Language: English

Tables, graphs and images: The use of tables, graphs, and other types of images is not permitted in the abstract.

Abbreviations: The use of standard abbreviations is acceptable. Place special or unusual abbreviations in brackets after the full word the first time it appears. Use numerals to indicate numbers, except to begin sentences.

Fee: No submission fee.

Number of Co-authors: No limit on the number of authors provided they can be justified based on the ICMJE authorship criteria.

Please prepare your abstract using the following headings:

Presentation Guidelines – WONCA SAR 2025

Oral Presentation- Research:

  • Total time allotted - 10 minutes
  • 7 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for Q&A.
  • • Presentation Software: PowerPoint (PPT or PPTX format)
  • Slides to be in the template provided
  • Number of Slides: Preferably less than 10 slides including Title Slide, Content Slides and Thank you slide.
  • Content slides should include Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion. (IMRD format)
  • Slide Design: Keep slides simple and visually appealing.
  • Colour Scheme: Use high-contrast colours (e.g. dark text on a light background)
  • Screen size / Aspect ratio – Wide Screen/ Aspect ratio 16:9 as Landscape
  • Avoid overcrowding with text or images
  • Font Style and Size: Use readable fonts (e.g., Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman).
  • Minimum font size: 24 pts for body text and 32 pts for headings
  • Avoid bright, clashing, or overly decorative backgrounds
  • Limit each slide to 4-6 lines. Bulleted lines are preferred instead of plain text as a paragraph.
  • Avoid complete sentences; use concise keywords or phrases

Poster Presentation:

  • Only e-Posters are permitted at WONCA SAR 2025. Special screen facilities will be provided on site.
  • Slide to be in the template provided
  • Total time allotted- 5 minutes.
  • 3 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for Q&A.
  • The aspect ratio of the slide should be 16:9 as Landscape.
  • Avoid overcrowding. Avoid bright, clashing, or overly decorative backgrounds. Use readable fonts.
  • Research: Follow IMRD format (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion).
  • Case Report: Provide a brief report on the History, Physical Examination, Investigations and Management of the patient (s), Discussion of the take home message and Conclusion.
