Message by President WONCA World

Greetings dear colleagues from around the world.

I invite you to join me at the 2025 WONCA South Asia Conference coming to Bengaluru, in India, in April.

I was interested to see the peacock being used for promotion of the conference. The peacock is the National Bird of India, and it beautifully reflects the theme "Rooted in Tradition, Growing with Innovation". The peacock's vibrant plumage and majestic presence represent the very rich cultural heritage of India, while its ability to spread its colourful wings and adapt to new environments symbolises a commitment to innovation and growth.

I am sure we will see and experience some of the wonderful traditions of India and we will hear about exciting innovations for our discipline. The organising team is enthusiastic and organised which can only make for a fantastic conference.

Naturally, I expect to see many colleagues from our South Asia region, but India is such a drawcard for colleagues in many countries, that I hope to see a truly international audience join us in Bengaluru.

Regards
Dr Karen Flegg
